Numpor also supports the development PetIGA, a high-performance, custom-written finite element framework. This software tool is used to abstract away the complexities of parallelization, based heavily on the Portable, Extensible, Toolkit for Scientific Computation (PETSc). The center develops high-performance, solvers built in house which test new methodologies and ideas. Furthermore the center supports work to provide user-friendly, python-based interfaces to many high performance packages (igakit, petsc4py, slepc4py, mpi4py).
